Super Eagles invitee earns Bundesliga Team of the Week honours after scoring brace

The final match of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualification is scheduled for Sunday between the Super Eagles of Nigeria and Sao Tomé and Principe

Nigeria’s Super Eagles invitee, Victor Boniface, has garnered recognition by being named in the German Bundesliga Team of the Week, Soccernet.ng reports.

The young talent stole the headlines once again over the weekend, delivering an impressive performance by netting two goals during Bayer Leverkusen’s thrilling five-goal encounter against Darmstadt.

The Bundesliga Team of the Week, unveiled on Monday evening, prominently featured the Nigerian forward. He was listed in the attack alongside other standout players, such as VfB Stuggart’s Serhou Guirassy, and Takuma Asano.

The forward’s remarkable contribution of four goals and two assists has played a pivotal role in propelling the Bay Arena outfits to the top of the Bundesliga table.

As a result of his outstanding performance, he has been selected, along with his friend Gift Orban, to don the Super Eagles of Nigeria jersey in the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualification match against São Tomé and Principe.

As he continues to shine in the Bundesliga, all eyes will be on Boniface to see if he can maintain his impressive form and help lead Bayer Leverkusen to a successful campaign in the upcoming matches.
