Premier League: Iwobi set to make Fulham debut in clash against Luton

Alex Iwobi completed a move from Everton to Fulham on the summer transfer deadline day, ending his five-year stay with Merseyside club

Manager Marco Silva has confirmed that Super Eagles forward Alex Iwobi is available to make his Fulham debut against Luton Town in a Premier League fixture at the Craven Cottage on Saturday, Soccernet.ng reports.

The 27-year-old made a switch from Merseyside to London on the final day of the summer transfer window, having spent the last five years with Everton.

But a hamstring injury he sustained in Everton’s 4-0 defeat away at Aston Villa, in what was his last game for the Toffees, has been delaying his maiden appearance for the Cottagers.

Silva in his pre-match conference ahead of Fulham’s league fixture against newcomers Luton Town on Saturday gave an update on the availability of the former Arsenal player.

Alex Iwobi is going to be involved in the squad list. He came injured when he signed with us but since the start of the week he’s been involved in the squad, He was quoted by fulhamfc.com

He will aim to use his timely return to help his club get back on track after they failed to win their last three Premier League matches following an opening-week 0-1 victory against Everton at Goodison Park.

Iwobi will also be targeting a return to the Super Eagles camp for their confirmed friendly game against Saudi Arabia in October, having missed out from the team that claimed a 6-0 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier win over Sao Tome and Principe last Sunday.
