The Nigerian forward and the French megastar had a faceoff during their league clash at the Parc des Princes on Sunday
The ongoing feud between OGC Nice striker Terem Moffi and Paris Saint-Germain superstar Kylian Mbappé has spilled over to social media, Soccernet.ng reports.
The dispute began on the pitch during OGC Nice’s shock 3-2 away victory over PSG in Ligue 1 but escalated on Instagram.
Moffi, who had a standout performance, played a pivotal role in the game by scoring two goals and providing an assist.
The 24-year-old Nigerian striker opened the scoring for Nice and set up the second goal brilliantly for his side after Mbappé had equalized for PSG at the Parc des Princes.
However, it was Moffi’s exuberant celebration after his third goal, which extended Nice’s lead to 3-1, that triggered the confrontation.
Moffi jubilantly removed his jersey, a gesture that visibly irked Mbappé. The two players engaged in a heated exchange, necessitating referee Clement Turpin’s intervention.
According to French media reports, Mbappé reportedly referred to Moffi as a “nobody” during the altercation.
Taking the feud to social media, Moffi posted images of his jersey-waving celebration on his official Instagram account, accompanying them with the caption, “Mr. Nobody.”
Adding fuel to the fire, Moffi shared a video of UFC superstar Conor McGregor, famous for his post-fight speech:
“I just want to say one thing from the bottom of my heart: I’m taking advantage of this opportunity – and I apologize to absolutely no one.”
Both Moffi and Mbappé were named in Sofascore’s Ligue 1 Team of the Week, with Moffi boasting a slightly higher rating of 9.0 compared to Mbappé’s 8.9.
Moffi’s impressive start to the campaign continues as he has now tallied three goals and two assists in five league games for OGC Nice.
