Nigeria vs Sao Tome and Principe: Coach Peseiro makes first move after accepting NFF’s pay cut

The Super Eagles of Nigeria is slated to tackle Sao Tome and Principe at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo on the 10th of September, 2023

Super Eagles head coach, Jose Peseiro, has been spotted inspecting the Godswill Akpabio Stadium ahead of the Nigeria vs Sao Tome and Principe clash,Soccernet.ng reports.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria are set to host the Central African side at the Uyo Stadium on Sunday, September 10th, for the final match of the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Peseiro, who recently accepted a pay cut from the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) that will keep him as the head coach of the Super Eagles until 2024, continues his preparations as he was seen inspecting the stadium that will serve as the venue for the AFCON qualifiers.

Peseiro’s team, having defeated Guinea-Bissau and Sierra Leone in their last two qualification matches, has secured a ticket to compete against other nations at the 2024 AFCON tournament in Côte d’Ivoire.

Nigeria, who previously defeated São Tomé with a score of 10-0 in the first legwho previously defeated São Tomé with a score of 10-0 in the first leg of their tie at the Adrar Stadium in Morocco, will be aiming for another dominant victory when they welcome Tino’s boys to Nigeria.

With a squad featuring top talents like Victor Osimhen, Samuel Chukwueze, and newcomers such as Victor Boniface and Gift Orban, Peseiro is expected to secure a victory and finish Group A on a high note.
