Italian media predicts Chukwueze’s starting debut: Inter Milan or Newcastle United?

Super Eagles star, Samuel Chukwueze, joined AC Milan from Villarreal during the Summer transfer window

Italian media outlets have made predictions regarding when Super Eagles star, Samuel Chukwueze, will make his first start for AC Milan since his move from Villarreal CF, Soccernet.ng reports.

The Nigerian forward signed a five-year deal with the Rossoneri for a fee in the region of €20 million after spending time with the Yellow Submarine since 2017.

However, despite his high-profile transfer to Milan in July, Chukwueze has yet to secure a spot in Pioli’s starting lineup, with former Chelsea star Christian Pulisic often being preferred.

As Chukwueze currently focuses on the Super Eagles’ Africa Cup of Nations qualification match against São Tomé and Príncipe, he is set to return to Milan shortly and prepare for a crucial encounter against arch-rivals Inter Milan.

Italian media outlets are speculating that Pioli may continue to favor Pulisic over the Nigerian winger. Nevertheless, there is a significant likelihood that Chukwueze will make his first start when Milan faces Newcastle United in their inaugural 2023-24 UEFA Champions League match.

Despite his goal drought in Serie A, where he has made three appearances for Milan, Chukwueze remains a potent attacking threat. In contrast, Pulisic has already netted two goals in his first three outings for the club.

Upon his return to Italy, Chukwueze will be determined to deliver outstanding performances and compete for a regular spot in the starting lineup.
