Elijah Adebayo makes Premier League history with Luton Town in memorable win at Everton

The big forward has been with The Hatters since 2021, but what he experienced on Saturday would go down among his most memorable

Elijah Adebayo has made history with Luton Town as The Hatters registered their first-ever win in the English Premier League, Soccernet.ng reports.

Struggling Luton Town disappointed the bookies to secure an impressive 1-2 victory over Everton at Goodison Park in their lunchtime fixture on Saturday.

Luton Town were promoted through the Championship playoffs last season, but they have found the Premier League a tough terrain to adjust to.

The Hatters lost four of their first five games in the top flight this term, claiming a draw in the other one, before heading to face Everton at Goodison Park.

But they got their afternoon to the perfect start after scoring twice in the opening half-hour courtesy of two excellent set-pieces.

Tom Lockyer opened the scoring from close range to put the visitors ahead before Carlton Morris volleyed past Pickford from a fine Alfie Doughty free-kick.

Everton responded well, and Dominic Calvert-Lewin halved the Toffees’ deficit four minutes before halftime.

The home side threw everything at Luton, but Adebayo came off the bench in the 78th minute to help the Premier League’s new boys hold on to their advantage.

The win lifts Luton Town to 17th on the EPL table with four points from six games. The Hatters are only behind Everton on goal difference and will fancy another three points when they trade tackles with Burnley on Tuesday.
