AC Milan’s Stefano Pioli assures more playing time for Chukwueze in the 2023-24 season

Super Eagles star, Samuel Chukwueze, moved to join AC Milan from Villarreal CF, during the Summer transfer window

AC Milan boss, Stefano Pioli, has revealed that Nigerian star, Samuel Chukwueze, will get more playing time as the 2023-24 season unfolds,Soccernet.ng reports.

Chukwueze joined AC Milan from Villarreal during the summer transfer window for around €20 million, catching the eye of the Rossoneri.

Despite his promising arrival, Chukwueze has seen limited playing time, with United States international Christian Pulisic often chosen as the first-choice winger.

Chukwueze made his debut start for Milan against Newcastle United after appearing in 7 matches, but couldn’t make a significant impact as the Serie A champions had a goalless draw against Eddie Howe’s side.

Pioli, in a post-game statement, emphasized the packed schedule ahead and reassured fans that Chukwueze will have more opportunities to shine.

“Musah, Loftus, and Chuku need to play. They were ready and needed game time. With matches every three days, they will get their chances. I have many players; others may feature against Verona.” he said, as quoted by Milan Posts.

Milan is set to host Verona at the San Siro Stadium on Saturday, and Chukwueze will aim to secure his first Serie A starting position since joining the club.
