“You should always do more at home”- Gent hero Torunarigha dissatisfied with draw against St. Truiden

Torunarigha scored the second goal for Gent after Orban pulled one back, but they could not get the win

Nigeria defender Jordan Torunarigha has expressed dissatisfaction over Gent’s 2-2 against St. Truiden at the Ghelamco Arena, Soccernet reports.

Gent had to dig deep to claim a point against St. Truiden when they visited on Saturday. The Buffalos were already two goals down by the 12th minute, but they staged a comeback.

Gift Orban pulled one back in the first half before Torunarigha added the second in the 69th minute. Unfortunately for the Buffalos, that was all they could conjure despite registering 19 attempts on goal.

After the game, Torunarigha explained that their tight game schedule contributed to the result. Still, they should have done better.

“I can’t say we were surprised, because we had prepared ourselves. The hardest thing for us was scoring that first goal,” Torunarigha said.

“After that first goal, we changed the system a bit, and it went more smoothly. In the second half, we put more pressure. St. Truiden was also just very good.”

“The reaction of the team was good, but it is a pity that you have to swallow two goals so early in the match.

“I was not really in the match at the beginning of the match. You should always do more at home, that is a pity. In the end, 1 point is always better than 0 points.”

Next up for Gent is a Europa Conference League qualifier against APOEL.
