Super Eagles forward, Victor Osimhen, has reached a significant milestone, scoring his 100th professional career goal from the penalty spot against Sassuolo, Soccernet.ng reports.
Napoli welcomed Sassuolo to the Diego Maradona Stadium for their second Serie A league match, aiming to build on their victory against Frosinone in their previous outing.
During the clash against the Black and Greens, Nigerian international Osimhen converted his 100th club goal from the penalty spot. The moment came in the 17th minute after a foul on Matteo Politano was reviewed by VAR and awarded as a penalty.

The 24-year-old, who had already secured a brace in his debut game of the 2023-24 season under Rudi Garcia’s leadership, confidently placed the ball into the net’s left side.
Osimhen’s knack for finding the back of the net has been evident throughout his career. He had previously notched up an impressive 99 club goals across 192 appearances. Notably, he contributed 61 goals in 102 matches while playing for Napoli.
Additionally, he scored 18 times in 38 appearances for Lille in France’s Ligue 1 and found the net 20 times in 36 games during his time with RSC Charleroi in Belgium.
As the match between the Italian sides unfolds, the Gli Azzurri, as Napoli is known, will aim to maintain their momentum and further solidify their victory by adding more goals to their tally.
