Dessers arrived in July, and he has had to wait a while before getting his first goal for Rangers
Super Eagles striker Cyriel Dessers scored the second goal for Rangers in their tough 2-1 win over Servette in the UEFA Champions League qualifiers, Soccernet reports.
Dessers joined Rangers from Cremonese in July following a failed season stint with the Italian minnows. However, it has not been an easy start to life for the 28-year-old striker, as he failed to score in his first four games. He also featured for the Gers in their opening-day loss to Kilmarnock, but he failed to find the net.
However, the former Feyenoord man finally put that behind him when Rangers welcomed Servette to Ibrox Stadium for the first leg of their UEFA Champions League qualifiers.
The former Scottish Premiership champions had a decent start, as James Tavernier scored the opener for them from the penalty spot in the 6th minute. Rangers were in firm control of the tie, and they got their second nine minutes later through Dessers.
Borna Barisic sent a cross into the box, and the Nigerian striker was on hand to just knock the ball home to make it 2-0.

Unfortunately for Dessers, he caused a penalty in the 43rd minute, and Servette capitalized, with Chris Bedia scoring from the spot.
Rangers controlled most of the tie, but they were unable to convert their possession to goals. Asides from his goal, Dessers had a shot on target which was saved. He had a decent outing for his side, but he was taken off for Ianis Hagi in the 88th minute.
It eventually ended 2-1 in Glasgow, and Rangers will travel to Switzerland for the second leg next week.
