Nigerian striker, Taiwo Awoniyi, continues to shine in the English Premier League as he extended his impressive streak of scoring to seven consecutive matches, making a significant impact by opening the scoring against Manchester United at Old Trafford,Soccernet.ng reports.

Awoniyi, who plays for Nottingham Forest, showcased his remarkable form by finding the back of the net against Manchester United within just two minutes of the match’s commencement.

The Nottingham Forest striker showcased his prowess by skillfully evading United’s last defender, propelling himself forward to confidently slot home the opening goal after only two minutes of play.

This marks Awoniyi’s third consecutive game in which he has scored, previously hitting the target against both Arsenal and Sheffield United in the two preceding matches.

A video shared on various social media platforms captured the moment Awoniyi artfully maneuvered past his markers, leaving Manchester United’s goalkeeper, Andre Onana, on the ground before expertly firing the ball into the back of the net.

Adding to the early lead, Willy Boly doubled Nottingham Forest’s advantage merely two minutes later, as a disjointed Manchester United side scrambled to regain control of the game.

However, Manchester United managed to pull one back through Christian Eriksen, who capitalized on a starting opportunity in place of the injured Mason Mount, netting a goal for the Red Devils in the 17th minute.

Awoniyi’s remarkable streak of consecutive EPL matches with goals raises the hopes and expectations of Nigerian football fans when the Super Eagles tackle Sao Tome Principe in the coming month.
