Transfers: Super Falcons-eligible striker leaves Valencia for Zaragoza

The young striker was born to a Nigerian father, so she can play for the Super Falcons

Nigeria-eligible striker Andrea Okene has completed a transfer from Laliga Femini side Valencia Femina to Segunda Liga Pro side Zaragoza CFF, Soccernet reports.

The 21-year-old striker started her career at the Levante Academy, where she won titles with the junior teams, but she left for Valencia Feminas’ junior teams in 2021.

Okene was decent with the club, winning the Segunda RFEF in her first season. However, after just two years with the club, she is on the move again.

Segunda Liga Pro side Zaragoza CFF have announced that Okene has joined them permanently this summer. Following her move, she becomes the seventh signing at the club this summer.

The Segunda Liga Pro is set to begin in September, and Okene would look to help her side gain promotion to the top-flight. This will be her first major experience of senior team football, and she would look to make an impact eventually.

Okene was born in Spain to a Spanish mother and a Nigerian father. As such, she can play for any of the two countries. The 21-year-old striker is generally regarded as a Spanish player, but she can start playing for the Super Falcons because she has not played for the Spanish senior team yet.
