Super Eagles midfielder urges NFF to snap up Coach Randy Waldrum

Coach Randy Waldrum led the Super Falcons of Nigeria to an impressive unbeaten world cup campaign until his troops were defeated by England on Penalties

Nigerian and Maccabi Kabilio Jaffa midfielder, John Ogu, has suggested to the Nigerian Football Federation to allow Coach Randy Waldrum to work with the Super Eagles team, Soccernet.ng reports.

Nigerians have applauded the sixty-six-year-old coach, for a job well done, as he led the Super Falcons to the round of sixteen, against the odd, as they were in a group labelled to be the group of death, albeit a painful loss to England on penalties on Monday morning.

Coach Waldrum, before the tournament, blasted the NFF for not allowing him enough time to practice with his team so as to pick the best bunch.

He went on air to say one of the main reasons he’s going to the tournament is because of the team, and how they’re a close-knit bunch, and after the loss against England, the coach said he would like to continue to coach the Super Falcons.

However, Ogu has gone on to praise the coach on his social media page, crediting him for a job well done, and urging the NFF to allow the coach to work with the Super Eagles amidst the dilemma José Peseiro’s contract renewal.

The thirty-five-year-old mentioned how he hadn’t seen such a compact and well-organized Super Falcons side in a very long while, praised the tactically sound coach, and mentioned how proud he is of the team and their exploits at the FIFA Women’s World Cup.

  • Every football-loving Nigerian would definitely agree with you. Coach Waldum is turning out to be the most tactical and the most knowledgeable and the best teacher we've had in the national teams since Clemence Westerhoff.

    • Ainfact a very good coach but politics will not allow him to continue. Well, I believe other country are waiting for him

  • Coach Waldum is a very good coach what really hurt me that NFF do not recognized good coach.

  • The NFF should be reasonable enough to know that Waldum is an asset to the Nigerian football and should be allowed to continue his job if really they want the progress of Nigeria.

    • as ex Nigeria Football player too I agree with John the greatest mistake NFF will do is to let the Coach go this is the best Coach Nigeria has had for Super Falcons since the history of Female Football in Nigeria they play with Confidence if he continues mark my word every team will be scared of playing Super Falcons

  • Matter of fact, even the NFF know that he(Mr Waldum) is a very good coach that really deserves good opportunities, respects and accolades, they employed him to make him feel resilient, humble and reason like a vulnerable ordinary Nigerian. Hungry and corrupt. The kind of generations the Nigerian government has created overtime. Obviously, there are very few exceptions though.
