Over to France, where Terem Moffi and OGC Nice made the trip to face the Nigerian star’s former, Lorient, but could only come away with a 1-1 draw. Bonke Innocent featured for the home team.

In another Ligue 1 clash at the Decathlon Arena, Moses Simon started for Nantes, but they were defeated 2-0 by their hosts Lille.

Elsewhere in the German 2. Bundesliga, Anthony Ujah provided the assist for Eintracht Braunschweig’s winning goal against Schalke O4.

William Troost-Ekong was a solid presence in defence for PAOK as they handed Asteras Tripolis a 3-0 thrashing in a Greek Super League 1 meeting.

Over to Italy, where Ademola Lookman featured in Atalanta’s perfect Serie A start, a 2-0 win over Sassuolo.

It was not such a good day for Isaac Success, though, as he came off the bench for Udinese in their disappointing 0-3 loss to Juventus.

19-year-old Super Eagles-eligible defender Michael Kayode shone like a million stars on his Serie A debut as he helped Fiorentina crush Genoa 4-1 away from home.

In Moldovan Super Liga, David Ankeye scored for Sheriff in a dominant 5-0 win against Dacia-Buiucani.

Also in the Romanian Liga I, Funsho Bamgboye assisted Rapid’s crucial second goal in their hard-fought 3-1 victory over FCV Farul Constanţa.

The evening ended on a disappointing note for Victor Moses in the Russian Premier League as his Spartak Moscow stumbled to a 1 – 3 home defeat at the hands of visiting Zenit.

In the Ukrainian Premier League, Samson Iyede scored the crucial winning goal in the 90th minute as Chornomorets edged to a 3 – 2 triumph over Dinamo Kyiv.

Over to the United States’ NWSL, where Super Falcons striker Ifeoma Onumonu assisted Gotham FC’s late consolation goal in a 2-1 away defeat to San Diego Wave.

In the Venezuelan Primera Division, Ade Oguns claimed an assist as his Caracas side played out a thrilling 2-2 draw away to Metropolitanos.
