“Mr Blabbermouth got it right”- Coach Waldrum’s son reacts to dad’s World Cup performance amid NFF clash

Nigeria’s Super Falcons under the Guidance of Randy Waldrum have performed admirably at the 2023 Women’s World Cup, going unbeaten to the Round of 16

Son of the Super Falcons’ head coach, Ben Waldrum, has praised his dad’s 2023 Women’s World Cup performance amid his previous clash with the Nigeria Football Federation, Soccernet.ng reports.

In the past, Randy Waldrum engaged the Nigerian football governing body in a no-holds-barred verbal battle about his unpaid salaries.

However, it was believed that Nigeria’s prospects of performing well at the 2023 World Cup would be harmed by the leadership squabble.

But, with the Super Falcons advancing to the next round of the tournament with an unbeaten record, the American tactician has received praise from the football community and his son.

The 66-year-old has already expressed his dissatisfaction with the NFF’s lack of assistance in helping his squad get ready for the competition.

Waldrum had stated that the Falcons are not as prepared as they should be for the World Cup, and that admission, along with his unpaid wages, infuriated the NFF glass house.

Meanwhile, the spokesperson for the NFF, Ademola Olajire, reacted sharply to Waldrum’s comments on his demands.

“Incompetent loudmouth. Now he’s found his voice since he’s about to achieve his only ambition of leading a team at the Women’s World Cup,

“Everyone knows FIFA pays preparation money for every team participating in the Women’s World Cup. The team has traveled to Japan and Turkey to play matches.

“Currently, they are in a 15-day training camp on the Gold Coast in preparation for the World Cup. Has Mr. Blabbermouth Waldrum been paying for all of this? He claims he is in the job because of the players. That’s nonsense.” Olajire said.

Ben, meanwhile, praised the Super Falcons’ manager on social media following the Texas-born tactician’s impressive performance when his team overcame Australia, one of the tournament’s co-hosts, by a score of 3 to 2.

“I’ve called Coach Waldrum much worse than Mr. Blabbermouth. But, Mr. Blabbermouth got it right in this match! Job well done, Pops,” he wrote.

On August 7, the Super Falcons of Nigeria are due to play the Lionesses of England, and the manager will be hoping to build on his successful World Cup campaign.
