WATCH: Michelle Alozie’s parents talk about their daughter’s FIFA Women’s World Cup dream

The Super Falcons secured a Round of 16 berth on Monday, and Alozie played an important role in their success

The parents of Super Falcons defender Michelle Alozie have revealed that she had been dreaming of playing at the World Cup since she was four years old, Soccernet reports.

Alozie was born in California, USA, but she opted to play for the Super Falcons because she has Nigerian parents, and that decision has paid off handsomely.

The versatile 26-year-old joined the Super Falcons fold in 2021 as she made her debut in June 2021 in a 1-0 loss to Jamaica in an international friendly.

With American tactician Randy Waldrum as coach, Alozie has alternated between right back and forward positions. But, recently, she has operated more as a defender.

The Houston Dash star was not in her elements at the last Women’s Africa Cup of Nations as she struggled to function properly in her role.

However, she has come into her own for the Super Falcons at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup. Alozie has been an important member of the Super Falcons team, playing every minute of their three group-stage games.

The World Cup is the pinnacle for every footballer, and Alozie’s parents are happy with what she has achieved so far.

Her parents also revealed that she always dreamed of playing at the World Cup since she was four years old.
