A rise from ashes? Former Chelsea star celebrate return to scoring glory for Spartak Moscow

The former Chelsea forward was faced with an Achilles tendon injury that kept him on the sidelines for five months

Former Chelsea star Victor Moses has made a triumphant return to action for Spartak Moscow in the 2023-24 Russian Premier League season, Soccernet.ng reports.

After recovering from a serious Achilles tendon injury that kept him on the sidelines for five months, the 32-year-old Nigerian forward marked his comeback with a goal against Orenburg.

In a thrilling 3-2 victory for Spartak Moscow, Moses opened the scoring in the 45th minute. However, Orenburg fought back in the second half with goals from Dmitriy Vorobyov and Gabriel Florentin.

The away fans celebrated their team’s lead for just nine minutes before two goals from Daniil Khlusevich sealed the victory for the Moscow-based club.

Delighted with his impressive return, Moses took to social media to express his joy, writing, “Big win today 💪🏾 great team performance and nice to get on the scoresheet for the first game of the season ⚽️💯.”

Moses’ goal and overall performance showcased his determination and talent, reaffirming his status as a valuable asset for Guille Abascal’s troops.

Spartak Moscow will depend on Moses’ professionalism and attacking skills as the season goes on to keep pursuing victory in the Russian Premier League and other tournaments.
