U20 World Cup: Five Flying Eagles to count on against South Korea

The Flying Eagles of Nigeria have been drawn to face South Korea in the quaterfinals of the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup after their victory against Argentina.

Ladan Bosso’s team sent the tournament host packing with goals from Ibrahim Muhammad and Haliru Sarki, earning the team a 2-nil win at the La Plata stadium.

The skilful Kim Eun-joong’s lads, on the other hand, overcame the tough Ecuador team 3 goals to nil, demonstrating that the highly anticipated showdown between Nigeria and Korea will produce talents, tenacity, and technical proficiency from both sides.

Soccernet.ng, on the other hand, looks at five Flying Eagles players on whom Bosso’s men may rely when they meet the Asians tomorrow.

Haliru Sarki

Sarki proved his worth with a stunning performance against Argentina, sealing the team’s 2-0 victory. With his goal-scoring instincts and ability to create opportunities, he will be a key figure in Nigeria’s attacking line, looking to find the back of the net once again.

Daniel Daga

Daga’s technical skills and tactical acumen make him a crucial presence in the midfield. His ability to win tackles, maintain possession, and make important passes will be vital in controlling the flow of the game and supplying the forwards with quality service.

Jude Sunday

Sunday has been a standout player in the Flying Eagles’ attacking arsenal. His quick feet, agility, and accurate shooting ability pose a constant threat to the opposition’s defense. He will be relied upon to provide the spark in the final third and find the back of the net with his clinical finishing.

Daniel Bameyi

Bameyi’s leadership qualities shine as the team captain, but it is his defensive prowess that truly stands out. He excels in aerial battles, provides solid coverage at the back, and also possesses the ability to contribute to the attack from the wing. His versatility and commitment make him an invaluable asset to the team.

Abel Ogwuche

Nicknamed the “Minister of Defense,” Ogwuche is a stalwart in the Flying Eagles’ backline. His strong tackles, reading of the game, and ability to neutralize opposing attacks make him an integral part of the team’s defensive stability. Ogwuche’s presence will be vital in thwarting South Korea’s forward line and keeping the opposition at bay.
