Osimhen has already been named the Player of the Season, he has now bagged another prize

Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has been named the best striker in the Italian Serie A for the 2022/23 season, Soccernet.ng reports.

Osimhen has enjoyed a phenomenal campaign with Napoli. The Nigerian striker is currently enjoying his best campaign in his career with 30 goals across all competitions.

The 24-year-old goal poacher has hit 25 goals in the Serie A, dominating the league’s goalscorers’ charts.

Also, Osimhen has written his name in Serie A history, smashing Samuel Eto’o and George Weah’s records. He currently holds the record for the most goals by an African in a single Serie A season. Osimhen is also the highest-scoring striker in Serie A history.

The former Lille man has won the Serie A Player of the Month multiple times already, but he has now added another award to his cabinet.

Osimhen has been named the Best Striker for the 2022/23 season. He was nominated alongside Inter Milan star Lautaro Martinez and AC Milan striker Rafael Leao.

He becomes the first Napoli player to win the award. He is also the first African player to win it.
