“He is spontaneous”- Simeone reveals what makes Osimhen special

Osimhen has had an outstanding campaign with Napoli, helping them to their first league title in 33 years

Napoli striker Giovanni Simeone has revealed that Victor Osimhen’s unpredictability is one of the key aspects of his game, Soccernet.ng reports.

Osimhen has had a brilliant campaign at Napoli this season, scoring 30 goals and bagging five assists in 37 appearances. His brilliance has helped the club to their first Serie A title since 1990.

The former Lille man has been the focal point of Luciano Spalletti’s attack despite the presence of Simeone who had 17 goals last season and Giacomo Raspadori who scored 10 goals for Sassuolo last season.

Both players just arrived at Napoli last summer, but they have had to play second fiddle to Osimhen. Nonetheless, Simeone appreciates the Nigerian’s brilliance.

Osimhen has constantly been a tough customer for defenders, and Simeone has revealed how the 24-year-old goal poacher goes about his business.

“It doesn’t seem like he’s always there, but every time the ball comes to him, osimhen invents something,” Simeone said per Napoli Magazine.

“He’s spontaneous, he doesn’t prepare his movements, they come out of nowhere and this makes life very difficult for defenders. He knows how to find space and kick with great ease.”

There have been strong talks that Osimhen could leave this summer. Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea, PSG, and Bayern Munich have been reported as possible destinations.

Simeone could take his place if the Super Eagles star leave. However, Napoli would have to sign him from Hellas Verona permanently.
