End of the road for Sanusi? Porto linked with out-of-favour Manchester defender

Sanusi has faced serious competition from Wendell since the latter joined Porto two seasons ago, and the club is looking to add more options

Former Portugal Liga champions Porto have been linked with a move for Manchester United defender Alex Telles, Soccernet.ng.

Telles spent last season on loan at Laliga club Sevilla after he failed to meet coach Erik Ten Hag’s requirements. Nonetheless, the Portuguese fullback helped Les Nervioneses win the Europa League.

However, they refused to retain his services. Telles does not appear to be in Ten Hag’s plans next season, and an exit is very likely.

Portugal big boys Porto have been in the conversation for his signature, and Centre Devils report that the Portugal international is only interested in joining Porto.

If the deal happens it would mean that Porto would have to sell Sanusi or Wendel to make space for Telles.

Sanusi has faced stern competition from Wendell since he joined Porto two seasons ago, and the addition of Telles would surely mean that one of them has to leave this summer.

By a number of games played, Wendell seems to be the current first choice after 32 appearances compared to Sanusi’s 18. As such, Sanusi may have to shop for playtime elsewhere.
