The World Cup is set to begin in two weeks, but the team has already arrived to set up camp
Nigeria’s Under-20 team, the Flying Eagles have landed in Argentina ahead of the 2023 World Cup, which begins on the 20th of May, Soccernet.ng reports.
The Flying Eagles qualified for the World Cup earlier this year after finishing third at the Under-20 Africa Cup of Nations. They are drawn in Group D of the World Cup, where they will play Brazil, Italy, and the Dominican Republic.
Ahead of the competition, 21 players and ten staff have arrived in Buenos Aires, Argentina for a ten-day camp where they will be involved in some friendly games before the competition kicks off on the 20th.
The Flying Eagles will begin the tournament with a fixture against the Dominican Republic on May 21, after which they will play Italy on the 24th.
Their final group game will be against Brazil on the 27th of May.
