Victor Osimhen suffers illness, misses Napoli training

Napoli’s training session on Wednesday morning saw the absence of star striker Victor Osimhen, who was sidelined due to an illness, Soccernet.ng reports.

The team took to the field for their training session, starting with warm-up exercises and tactical drills.

However, Osimhen could not participate due to a flu condition, which prevented him from joining his teammates.

Last weekend, Osimhen played the full 90 minutes in Napoli’s unexpected 2-0 defeat against Monza at the U-Power Stadium.

Osimhen’s absence from training raises questions about his availability for the highly anticipated league clash against Inter Milan on Sunday at the Diego Maradona Stadium.

Inter Milan, who recently secured their place in the UEFA Champions League final after eliminating AC Milan, were the team that knocked Napoli out in the quarterfinals.

Osimhen’s presence in the upcoming match could be crucial for Napoli as they aim to bounce back from their recent defeat and secure a positive result against the strong Inter Milan side.

This season, Osimhen has been instrumental for Napoli, scoring an impressive 23 goals in 29 appearances. His contributions played a significant role in Napoli clinching their first Serie A title since 1990.

Napoli will closely monitor Osimhen’s recovery and hope to have him back in action soon to continue his goal-scoring form.
