Morocco Under-17 team goalkeeper Hamza Jlid is aware of the quality that Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets possess, but he is optimistic that they can secure the victory when both teams clash on Wednesday, Soccernet.ng reports.
Nigeria were dominant in their opening day 1-0 victory over Zambia, but they may face a sterner test when they play Morocco on Wednesday.
Morocco beat South Africa 2-0 in their first group game, and their technicality could come in handy despite Nduka Ugbade’s lads’ pace, chemistry, and energy.
Ahead of the fixture, Morocco shot-stopper Jlid believes that if they play to the maximum potential, they can get a win.
“We will definitely give our best and try to battle for a win. We saw Nigeria in their match and we know it will be tough to beat them. But as players, we are ready,” Jlid told CAF.
A win for the Golden Eaglets would seal their spot in the semifinal, and also clinch the ticket for the Under-17 World Cup later this year.
