U-20 World Cup: Three Flying Eagles stars that might hit Ladan Bosso’s starting lineup against Brazil

The Flying Eagles of Nigeria have grabbed all 6 points in their last two games at the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup tournament.

The seven-time Africa Cup of Nations champions came from behind to defeat the Dominican Republican in the opening game of the Group D tie with 2 goals to one, and outclassed Italy with a score of 2 goals to nil.

After the game, Ladan Bosso, who was not satisfied with the results of his boys so far  revealed that he would be giving a chance to some players when they face Brazil.

The Samba boys, although, needs a victory against Nigeria to seal their ticket to the next round, would still be facing a tenacious Nigerians who will be looking to end their group stage matches in style.

As the Flying Eagles tackle the Brazilians at the La Plata Stadium on Saturday, some new faces different from those who started against the Italians, is expected to mount the podium.

Soccernet.ng highlights three players who are expected to start against Brazil.

Emmanuel Umeh

Emmanuel, who currently plays for Botev Plovdiv in the Bulgarian League is expected to feature hit Bosso’s starting lineup against Brazil following his impressive performance against the Italians.

Coming in for Lawal Salem Fago against Walter Benitez’s boys, and Ibrahim Lawal against Italy, he has proven himself worthy of a spot in the starting lineup against Brazil.

Wreaking havocs on opponent’s defense, he was able to produce a fine assists against Carmine Nunziata‘s boys the last time out.

His services will, with no doubt, be employed again when the Flying Eagles knights march on to face Brazil.

Haliru Sarki

The Pacy Nigerian winger have come on twice to replace Lawal Salem Fago, and Ibrahim Muhammad in the last two Flying Eagles games at the World Cup tournament.

Against Italy, his quick feet came into play, and was significant in mounting more pressure on the Nunziata troops’ defense.

He is again expected to be handed more time on the pitch when Nigeria face Brazil on Saturday.

Tochukwu Nnadi

The Bulgarian-based midfielder has been excellent in holding the midfield for the Flying Eagles with his pairing with Daniel Daga.

Having feature in the second half of the game against Italy, this time, he is expected to hit Ladan Bosso’s starting lineup while he rests others.
