The Burkinabes sent defending champions Cameroon packing, and they are looking to do the same to the Flying Eagles
Burkina Faso coach Brahima Traore has stated that his team would prepare well for the game against the Golden Eaglets of Nigeria as they look to qualify for the semifinal of the Under-17 Africa Cup of Nations, Soccernet.ng reports.
Burkina Faso eliminated defending champions Cameroon from the competition last week, but they are now faced with a very talented and tricky Golden Eaglets side.
Nigeria picked two wins from their three group stage games and impressed with their free-flowing style of play.
Nonetheless, Burkina Faso coàch Traore is confident that they can get something away from the game.
“We had two objectives in this tournament, Traore told CAF Media.
“Our first aim is to get to the semi-finals and then to fight for the title. We will prepare well for Nigeria to enable us to get to the semis and earn the World Cup ticket.”
The Golden Eaglets are condemned to win the game as a victory would seal their spot at the World Cup later this year. The game will be played on Thursday.
