“More than any player” – Nottingham Forest celebrates Taiwo Awoniyi’s brilliant goal record

Nottingham Forest is basking in the glory of Taiwo Awoniyi‘s exceptional goal-scoring prowess, which has ensured their coveted position among the Premier League elite for next season, Soccernet.ng reports.

The Tricky Trees, facing the threat of relegation, found their salvation in Awoniyi’s sublime performances during the campaign’s final month.

In a remarkable feat, the Nigerian striker delivered five goals in just three games, garnering seven valuable points out of a possible nine for his team.

Awoniyi’s heroics began with a breathtaking brace in Forest’s enthralling 4-3 triumph over fellow relegation battlers, Southampton.

Notably, this marked the first time the 25-year-old had scored twice in a single Premier League match since his arrival in England last summer.

Displaying an unwavering determination, Awoniyi continued his goal-scoring spree by delivering another impactful brace during the crucial 2-2 draw against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

This achievement further added to his ever-growing list of milestones, marking his first consecutive brace in his illustrious career.

However, the Super Eagles striker’s exploits did not culminate there.

With Nottingham Forest’s top-flight status hanging in the balance, Awoniyi, with a lethal touch of brilliance, netted the decisive winning goal in their weekend triumph against Arsenal.

The victory, earned by his unwavering commitment and extraordinary skill, ensured Nottingham Forest’s survival for at least another season in the prestigious Premier League.

Overwhelmed by Awoniyi’s awe-inspiring contributions, Nottingham Forest took to their official Twitter account to honour their prodigious marksman.

The club proudly declared that the Nigerian talisman had outshone his contemporaries, securing the distinction of scoring more Premier League goals in the month of May than any other player, achieving this feat in just three matches.
May.

“@taiwoawoniyi18 has scored more #PL goals than any other player this month. *in only three games, too,” NFFC wrote.

Awoniyi currently leads Nottingham Forest’s goal charts with an impressive tally of nine league goals this season.

As the campaign nears its culmination, the tenacious forward will aim to augment his goal-scoring record when the Tricky Trees lock horns with Crystal Palace in their final fixture of the season next weekend.
