“I learned to play football in the military barracks”- Hot Nigerian striker Victor Boniface

Nigerian striker Victor Boniface has revealed that he learned to play football when he lived in the military barracks in Nigeria, Soccernet.ng reports.

Boniface has raised eyebrows with his eye-catching performance for Belgium Jupiler League side Royale Union SG this season.

He just joined the club last summer from Bodo Glimt but he has taken to Belgium like fish to water. The Akure-born striker’s ability to also switch between playing as a winger and playing as a top poacher has been key to his success.

The 22-year-old hitman has registered 15 goals and 10 assists in 45 appearances for the Jupiler League trophy hopefuls.

Speaking on his background, the Super Eagles-eligible striker has revealed that he honed his skills while playing with the Nigerian military.

“I lived with my grandparents. Grandpa was in the army, I grew up in the military domain. I often played football there with my uncles,” he told Het Nieuwsblad per GFNB.

Because of the barrage of quality attackers available to coach Jose Peseiro, Boniface is yet to get a Super Eagles invitation. However, if he continues to churn out the goals, it would only be a matter of time before he gets in.
