Ajibade guides Atletico Madrid Femeni to Spanish Cup final

Oshoala and her Barcelona Femeni side were disqualified for fielding an ineligible player, but Ajibade will be flying Nigeria’s flag in the final

Super Falcons striker Rasheedat Ajibade registered an assist in Atletico Femeni’s 4-0 bashing of Alhama in the semi-final of the Spanish Cup, Soccernet.ng reports.

Asisat Oshoala and her Barcelona Femeni side will not be able to defend their crown because they were disqualified from the competition in the quarterfinals for fielding an ineligible player. However, Ajibade was looking to fly Nigeria’s flag with her Atletico Madrid side.

Las Colchoneras started the game very well, and they went ahead after just five minutes through Sonia Majarin. Then in the 37th minute, they doubled their lead through Estafania Banini,  and Ajibade was the assist provider. The Super Falcons star was taken off at halftime.

Goals from Eva Maria Navarro and Hanna Lundkvist completed the 4-0 victory for Atletico Madrid. The victory sealed their place in the final of the competition. They will face the winner of the game between Athletic Bilbao and Real Madrid.
