“We’re not going to blame anybody”- Kelechi Iheanacho says as Leicester City fling with EPL relegation zone

Kelechi Iheanacho handed Dean Smith his first goal as Leicester City manager against Manchester City but it was not enough to earn a point

Super Eagles forward Kelechi Iheanacho has indicated that Leicester City would not blame anybody for their present league position till the end of the season.

The Nigerian star has revealed that the Foxes are well focused on lifting themselves out of the relegation zone, and do everything to avoid relegating to the second division.

Brendan Rodgers guided the team to a poor run of campaign in the English Premier League, with a loss to Roy Hodgson’s Crystal Palace placing them in the 18th position, while West Ham’s win puts them 19th.

However, Manchester City’s victory added more salt to Leicester’s injury, but Iheanacho confirmed to talkSPORT that the squad would concentrate on avoiding relegation rather than blaming anybody.

“There are twists and things happen in life,

“We’re not going to blame anybody for being in this position. We just need to look at ourselves, pick ourselves up and go with everything we’ve got to be safe.

“We are here now, so we can’t be looking back at what’s happened. We can do that when we are safe. Right now, we just need to focus on the remaining games and fight for our lives to be safe. We can only do it together and as a unit, as a team.

“We have done everything. There is nothing we haven’t done. In the dressing room, on the pitch, on, on the training ground, we’ve done it all. We have changed so many things, we’ve done everything to get a lift.

“We just need to win football games. We just need to get on the pitch and make sure everybody’s head is on it.” he said, as quoted by Leicestermercury.

The East Midlands will host Wolves at the King Power stadium in an effort to get a respectable point that would lift them out of the relegation zone.
