Watch: Igbo youngster Chukwueze thanked fans in Spanish after Villarreal vs Real Madrid tie

Real Madrid’s pursuit of the title in the 2022–23 season was hampered by the Nigerian’s goal

Nigerian Star, Samuel Chukwueze, was heard speaking a language other than his native tongue or the language used as official communication in his nation.

The Nigerian star was seen in a video speaking Spain’s official language, Spanish, to the fans after Villarreal’s victory against Real Madrid on Saturday evening.

At the Santiago Bernabéu, the Nigerian star stunned Carlo Ancelotti’s team with an outstanding performance, scoring a brace that was essential to their victory.

Before shooting past Thibaut Courtois, the Nigerian’s manoeuvre forced White’s defender Nacho to seek cover.

Brazilian Vinicius was given a chance in the second half as a result of poor defence by Villarreal, and he took advantage of it to give the home side the lead early in the second half.

After a VAR review, Jose Morale’s goal was confirmed as a goal, tying the score once again with the visiting team.

Chukwueze placed even more pressure on the Madrid defenders before hitting an unbelievable goal from beyond the box to give Quique Setién’s squad the victory.

After the match, the attacker who won the game’s Man of the Match award thanked the away supporters for their encouragement during the contest in Spanish.

The Nigerian talent, who was born in Umahaia, Nigeria, competed in the Diamond Academy there before travelling to Spain in 2018 to begin his European career.

The Nigerian has shown his adaptability by learning Spanish throughout his almost six years in the Spanish league.
