Super Falcons boss Waldrum snubs Oshoala, names her Barcelona teammate the best player in the world

The debate on who is the best player in the world is an unending one, and Waldrum has shared his thoughts

Super Falcons boss Randy Waldrum believes Asisat Oshoala’s Barcelona teammate Alexis Putellas is the best player in the world Soccernet.ng reports.

The argument for who is the best player in the world is a never-ending one especially as biases and sentiments would always come into play.

In the men’s game, even though both have almost fazed out, the argument for the greater player between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo is yet to be settled.

Well, it is the same situation in the women’s game. Beth Mead, Alex Morgan, Putellas, Mapi Leon, and Sam Kerr are all in the conversation for the best player in the world.

However, to Waldrum, Putellas is the pick of the bunch. He believes she is the most complete player in the world.

“I’m a big fan of [Alexia] Putellas. I think she’s just a complete player and she plays the way I like players to play,” Waldrum told FIFA TV.

“She has all the intangibles that, as a coach, I would look for. I think you could easily make an argument for Sam and a handful of other top players.

“I love Mapi Leon. She’s not going to get the goals and the stats because she doesn’t play in the position to, but in terms of what she brings to the team, you can easily make an argument for her. But I think Putellas is the most complete.”

Putellas is the current Balon D’or holder, but she has been injured since last July, and it seems unlikely that she will win the Balon D’or again this year.

Nonetheless, her quality is never in doubt when she plays for Barcelona.
