Red-hot Gift Orban’s Woldie nominated for Jupiler Pro League GOTM

For Hein Vanhaezebrouck’s team, the Nigerian star has been spectacular, scoring nine goals in the month of March

Nigerian attacker, Gift Orban, has been nominated for the Jupiler Pro League Goal of the Month award for his incredible goal in KAA Gent’s 1-0 victory against Anderlecht.

In the Ghelamco Arena, the 20-year-old scored an incredible goal past Dutch goalkeeper, Bart Verbruggen, to secure the victory.

The Buffalo striker curled the ball precisely into the top right corner of the goal, but the opposing goaltender could only watch.

With the goal, he was nominated the Belgian League’s player of the month for March, competing for the honour against Loïc Lapoussin, Bjorn Meijer, Simon Adingra, and Abdelkahar Kadri.

Since his transfer from Stabaek Fotball to KAA Gent in the January transfer window, the Nigerian has been on fire, netting 9 goals in the month of March and tallying a total of 12 goals in 10 games for the Belgian team.

His interest in the transfer market has consequently increased as a result of this outstanding performance, and it is expected that several elite European clubs will compete for his signing this summer.

Orban, meanwhile, is expected to pick up where he left off in leading his side to greater success after being declined by his club to accept the Nigeria U-23 invitation on the grounds that he should relax for their forthcoming games in April.

  • Victor Osimhen should have declined Super Eagles' invitation for the most recent game. Eagles have more than enough strikers. Now Osimhen has to miss a few games for his club.
