“Nothing can stop us”- Golden Eaglets bullish ahead of Zambia clash

The Golden Eaglets are looking to win a third AFCON trophy in Algeria, and the lads are full of confidence ahead of the competition 

Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets stars are confident of defeating Zambia and having a good performance at the 2023 Under-17 Africa Cup of Nations Soccernet.ng reports.

Nigeria has won five FIFA World Cup trophies but they boast of just two triumphs on the continent. The last time that the Golden Eaglets won the trophy was in 2007, but coach Nduka Ugbade would look to steer the team to victory this time.

The Golden Eaglets will fly Nigeria’s flag in Algeria. They are in Group B alongside Zambia, South Africa, and Morocco.

The five-time world champions play Zambia first on the 30th of April, then Morocco on the 3rd of May before playing their last group stage game against South Africa on the 6th.

Ahead of the game, the players are confident that they will defeat Zambia and go on to big things in Algeria.

 

“We are adapting well to the weather,” they said per Francis Achi.

“Zambia is not strong enough for us. We don’t fear anybody, and we are ready to beat anybody.

“We also respect them, they have a good body structure. But our coach has put us through, we have a serious attitude, and nothing can stop us.

 

The competition is a crucial one for Nigeria, as the top four teams will eventually qualify for the World Cup later in November this year.
