Nigerians abroad: Okoli hurts Zamalek, Oladayo decisive, Okechukwu impresses

It was a busy day of football across different leagues and countries, with several Nigerian players featuring for their respective clubs.

Teenagers Tochukwu Nnadi, Samuel Akere, and Umeh Emmanuel all featured to help Botev Plovdiv claim a 1-1 home draw with Spartak Varna to continue their battle to avoid relegation from the Bulgarian First League.

In Denmark, Tosin Kehinde and Stephen Odey came from the bench as Randers and Nordsjælland played out a 1-1 draw in game three of the Championship Round to keep up their hopes of securing a UEFA Conference League Play-offs spot.

In the Egyptian Premier League, John Okoli continued his impressive form with his seventh goal of the season to inspire Al Mokaloon to an impressive 2-2 draw with Zamalek.

The result all but ended Zamalek’s title aspirations, as it keeps them 13 points behind leaders Al Ahly.

In Portugal, Bruno Onyemaechi delivered a solid performance at left-back as Boavista recorded a fine 1-1 draw at Vizela.

With the point, Boavista now boast a healthy 12-point gap above the relegation zone in the Primeira Lig table.

In Sweden’s Superretan, Flying Eagles defender Abel Ogwuche was a stoppage-time substitute as Trelleborg defeated Örgryte two-nil. At the same time, Suleiman Abdullai fired blanks as IFK Göteborg suffered a 0-1 home loss to Malmö.

In Turkey’s 1 Lig, Ibrahim Olawoyin and Azuibike Okechukwu were in action to lift Rizespor to a 2-0 victory at Boluspor.

And in the MLS Next Pro, Oladayo Thomas provided the assist to the winning goal for New York RB II in their 1-0 at home to Huntsville City.
