Nathan Tella has made 24 goal contributions (19 goals and five assists) since joining Burnley
Super Eagles-eligble star, Nathan Tella, has been awarded the PFA Vertu Motors Championship Fans’ Player of the Month for March.
The Southampton-owned player, who has been a key contributor to Vincent Kompany’s team’s success this season, has scored 17 goals in 38 Championship games this season.
His impressive performance has, however, been rewarded with a PFA Vertu Motors Championship, having scored a total of 5 goals in March, which includes a hattrick against Hull City and a brace against Wigan Athletic.
Following this, the 23-year-old won the monthly award over Coventry City’s Victor Gyökeres, Middlesbrough duo Cameron Archer and Chuba Akpom, Sheffield United’s Tommy Doyle and Stoke City’s Ki-Jana Hoever.
Upon reaching this height, the Englishman of Nigerian heritage expressed his joy at winning the award and thanked the supporters.
“I’m delighted to win this award. Thank you to my teammates, I couldn’t have done this without them. As well as the staff, also a shout out to the fans – I really appreciate your support, you keep me going.” Tella said via Burnley’s official club website.
The Nigerian may not return to his relegation-threatened club owing to his outstanding performance for the legendary Manchester City star, as Burnley are contemplating making a permanent signing of the Southampton starlet.
