More confidence for Iheanacho? Leicester City receives massive injury boost ahead of Leeds United clash

Leicester City defeated Wolverhampton by a score of 2 goals to 1 to escape the relegation zone

James Maddison, a fellow member of the Leicester City squad that includes Kelechi Iheanacho, is anticipated to make a comeback for the Foxes ahead of their matchup with Leeds United.

Maddison was reportedly diagnosed with a stomach bug the night before the game against the Wolves and was subsequently ruled out.

Meanwhile, Super Eagles forward, Iheanacho, had previously said after their win against Wolverhampton that the team’s togetherness had contributed to their ability to defeat Julen Lopetegui’s men at the King Power stadium.

Maddison, who is a crucial member of the squad, is expected to return with his talents to help the club win more games as they fight for more points to escape the relegation zone fully.

The English international is the man with the most assists and the second-leading scorer for Leicester City, behind Harvey Barnes by one goal, however, he was unable to participate in their match against Wolves.

Iheanacho and Maddison, who work well together in the attack to pose greater threats to opponents’ defences, have been dubbed by former England player Danny Murphy as the two game-changers in the Foxes’ side.

“But the two game changers in the ruthless end of the pitch were Maddison and Iheanacho. They absolutely tore Tottenham’s defence to bits. Now we know Iheanacho is a good player, it’s his consistency, running the team. He started the game with a real intensity, a real tenacity, as they all did actually.” he earlier said via Match of the Day.

However, Maddison’s return to the club would give Iheanacho “hope” to defeat Leeds United as they attempt to build on their prior efforts towards defeating Wolves.

Smith’s team will have additional issues to address in their effort to escape relegation when they face Fulham, Liverpool, Newcastle and West Ham United in their last few games of the season.
