“Men lie numbers don’t” – Former Tottenham defender reacts to Chukwueze’s performance against Real Madrid

The Nigerian sensation is now Villarreal’s second-leading scorer, 2 goals behind Morales, Jose Morales

Ivory Coast defender, Serge Aurier, reacted to Samuel Chukwueze’s outstanding performance for Villarreal against Real Madrid, soccernet.ng reports.

The deeds of the Nigerian hero helped the Yellow Submarines narrow their deficit in the race for next season’s eligibility for the European competition, which was crucial to their spectacular victory against The Whites.

The former Tottenham star criticised Chukwueze’s detractors after his performance in the match against the reigning La Liga champions, while also praising him for his efforts.

On Saturday evening, there were fireworks at the Santiago Bernabéu as the Nigerian star’s activities made up for his teammate’s costly error, which led to an own goal in the first half.

Before shooting past Thibaut Courtois to tie the game, the winger’s move forced White’s defender Nacho to seek cover.

Brazilian Vinicius was given an opening in the second half as a result of poor defence by Villarreal, and he took advantage of it to give the home team the early lead.

The 23-year-old once again increased the pressure on the Viking defence before netting an amazing goal from beyond the box to give Quique Setién’s squad the victory.

Following the match, his former colleague, who joined Villarreal from Tottenham for a year, shared his thoughts on the victory on his Instagram account.

“They pretend not to talk about your season! But men lie but numbers don’t. Congrats my son” he composed.

The Nigerian is expected to wreck even more defences when his team plays Real Valladolid since he is currently on the edge of maintaining his exceptional performance.
