Argentina hero gives blunt Victor Osimhen assessment after AC Milan edged Napoli

Former Paris Saint-Germain star Ezequiel Lavezzi has suggested that Napoli missed the qualities of Victor Osimhen in their first-leg Champions League defeat to AC Milan.

Soccernet.ng reports that AC Milan romped to a 1-0 win over Napoli at the San Siro on Wednesday night to secure a narrow advantage ahead of the replay.

Napoli dominated the encounter and created several scoring chances, but they could not make one of those count until the final whistle.

However, former Argentina international and 2008 Beijing Olympic gold medalist Ezequiel Lavezzi is confident that Milan will struggle in the return fixture, with Osimhen likely to return to the team.

In a post-match interview on Amazon Prime (via Tutto Napoli), Lavezzi commented on Napoli’s defeat at the San Siro against Milan, saying, “Napoli played a good game, regardless of the result. I think that in the return leg, they will find Osimhen again, who acts as a point of reference up front, attacks the space, and makes the opposing defenders struggle a lot.”

Lavezzi suggested that Milan will find it tough in the return leg, saying, “There are still 90 minutes to play; I think it will be very tough for Milan in Naples. I hope and wish it goes well for the Azzurri.”

Osimhen, who has been injured, is widely regarded as one of Napoli’s key players. His absence was felt in the first leg against Milan, as the team struggled to create chances and find the back of the net.

However, with Osimhen likely to return to the team for the return leg, Napoli will be hoping to turn things around and secure their place in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

The clash between Napoli and Milan promises to be a thrilling encounter, with both teams desperate to progress in the competition.

Milan will be looking to build on their first-leg advantage, while Napoli will hope to use their home advantage to turn the tie in their favour.
