Naples authorities are preparing for an expected title celebration this weekend as Napoli is on the verge of winning their first Scudetto title in 33 years.
According to Corriere del Mezzogiorno, the authorities are planning to deploy 350 police officers to help man the city gates and ensure that the festivities are carried out safely.
The authorities will guard as many as 70 city gates, assigning five policemen to each station.
Their task is to prevent blockages in the historic center and ensure that the celebrations are carried out smoothly.
Smoke bombs will be provided in the historic center, and tables with open-air restaurants will be set up from the Rione Trajan in San Giovanni a Teduccio.
The celebration will be marked by blue-coloured cars, flags, silhouettes of football players, and allegorical floats.
Fireworks displays have already been prepared outside the Diego Maradona Stadium, in Largo Maradona in the Spanish Quarters, and in Via Nuova Santa Maria Ogni Bene.
Napoli will play against Salernitana next on 29th April, in the Serie A game week 32, with a kick-off time of 2 pm.
If Napoli beats Salernitana and Lazio fails to beat Inter Milan, the Neapolitans will seal their first Scudetto title in 33 years.
Napoli fans are expected to celebrate long into the night if they win the title, and authorities are ensuring that everything is in place to carry out the celebrations safely.
The celebration is expected to be a joyous occasion for the city and the Napoli fans who have been waiting for this moment for over three decades.
This achievement has been fueled by Victor Osimhen’s incredible 21 league goals. Osimhen has been the goal king for Napoli this season and has played a crucial role in their success.
