The Super Falcons are looking to make a mark at the World Cup later this year, and they are set to play more friendly games to make the team better
Nine players have arrived at the Super Falcons camp in Antalya ahead of their World Cup preparatory games against Haiti and New Zealand.
The Super Falcons are looking to do better than their previous performances when they travel to Australia and New Zealand for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
Ahead of the competition, the team has been involved in a series of friendly games. They are set for two more fixtures later this week, as they take on Haiti and New Zealand.
Coach Randy Waldrum invited 23 players for the games, including Barcelona Femeni striker Asisat Oshoala and longtime absentee Desire Oparanozie.
The Super Falcons camp opened on Tuesday. And as of the time of this report, nine players had hit camp. Yewande Balogun, Regina Otu, Esther Okoronkwo, Onome Ebi, Etim Inyene, Abiodun Deborah, Halimatu Ayinde, Vivian Ikechukwu, and Glory Ogbonna were the available players. Coach Waldrum still expects 14 players for the games.
The World Cup kicks off on the 20th of July.
