Osayi-Samuel just got into the Super Eagles fold, but he is making his presence felt
Nigeria defender Bright Osayi-Samuel has urged fans to get behind the Super Eagles as he believes that the team will eventually come good.
The Super Eagles were underwhelming in their last two fixtures against Guinea-Bissau. Nigeria were the outright favorites to claim all available six points from the doubleheader.
However, they were shocked in the first leg, as Guinea-Bissau stole a 1-0 victory from Abuja.
Nonetheless, Jose Peseiro’s lads bounced back in the second leg, nicking a 1-0 victory at the September 12 Stadium in Bissau.
It was a much-improved performance from the Super Eagles, but they showed frailties in some areas.
Osayi-Samuel who was instrumental in helping Nigeria to victory in Bissau is aware of their struggles. But he has urged Nigeria fans to keep faith in the team.
“Keep believing in us, we are still a young group,” Osayi-Samuel told NFF TV.
“I think the more we play together the chemistry will get better. I think we will surprise so many people.”
The Super Eagles will have the opportunity to give their fans something to cheer about when they travel to Sierra Leone for the return leg of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers in June.
