Suspended Lazio defender desires to play against Osimhen

Napoli appears unbeatable in the Serie A derby against Lazio at the Estadio Diego Armando Maradona, as they seek their ninth consecutive league victory.

Lazio defender Nicolo Casale has revealed his desire to face Nigerian international Victor Osimhen.

The Italian player, who joined the White and Sky Blues in the summer, received his fifth warning this season when he played Sampdoria on Monday, which will prevent him from participating in their match against Napoli.

The 25-year-old stated that he was disappointed that he could not travel to the Diego Maradona Stadium with his teammates on Friday. He added that he has always wanted to play against the well-known Osimhen.

The Negrar-based player disclosed to Lalaziosiamonoi his desire to play against the Nigerian during a seminar on bullying and cyberbullying.

As quoted by TuttoNapoli, he remarked, “I felt particularly sorry since I’ve never faced Osimhen.”

Apart from being the top scorer in Serie A with 19 goals, the Nigerian striker recently broke Cristiano Ronaldo’s four-year record to become the league’s jump-king. His admirers have praised him for his heading abilities.

The former Hellas Verona player praised Osimhen’s skills while admitting that he mostly watched the Super Eagles striker on television.

“I always see him on TV and say, ‘man, he has too many qualities. He’s fast, strong in the head.”

The Italian wishes he would travel with the squad, but he won’t be on the roster for their crucial trip to the Diego Maradona stadium.

“I’m sorry, but I was warned after 5/6 games and could not change the situation. I would have liked to face him. Evaluating the activity included a lot of risks. I’m sorry, but I have no doubt that those attending will succeed,” he said.

The Eagles have a big task as they aim to snap Napoli’s eight-game winning streak; a victory in Naples would propel them into second place in the Italian league’s top flight.
