Super Eagles prospect scoops two awards in Belgium

The 20-year-old hitman has been in amazing form for his club, and he has been rewarded for his brilliance

Nigerian striker Gift Orban has won the player of the month award and goal of the month award at Belgian club KAA Gent.

Orban just joined Gent from Norwegian club Stabaek Fotbal in January for €3.3million. But he has taken the Jupiler League by storm.

The 20-year-old hitman announced his arrival on his debut game with a brace when Gent drew 3-3 at Westerlo. One of the goals was via a beautiful scissors kick.

Then he scored in their victory over Qarabag in the Europa Conference League. Orban also scored the winner for Gent in their 1-0 win over Anderlecht.

The 20-year-old poacher is fast becoming a household name at Gent, and Andrew Randa reports that the club has rewarded him for his super displays.

Orban has been awarded the Player of the Month for February as well as the Goal of the month for February.

Gent welcome Basaksehir to the Ghelamco Arena in their Europa Conference League round of 16 fixture. Orban would look to celebrate his awards with a goal when he filed out for his team.
