Victor Osimhen currently holds the top spot on Serie A’s top scorers’ chart
The Nigerian forward, Victor Osimhen, has indicated that he intends to win every trophy still up for grabs this season.
The Parthenopeans have had a standout campaign so far this year, and they now sit atop the Serie A rankings, 18 points clear of Inter Milan in second.
The Gli Azzurri defeated Eintracht Frankfurt 2-0 at Deutsche Bank Park, and after being sent packing by Cremonese, the league’s bottom team, they are now one step away from the UEFA Champions League quarterfinals.
The Super Eagles attacker has stated his aim to win both the Champions League, in addition to his primary goal of helping his team win the Scudetto.
The 24-year-old, while speaking in an interview with Corriere della Sera, revealed that the team has a long way to go, but he wants to win every trophy.
“March has only begun, so there is still time. But I do want everything, and so do we. For this accomplishment, we give our lives. We are giving everything up to get it, thus we deserve it. We are nearly there, but if we get sidetracked now, woe betide us.” he said, as cited by Tutto Napoli
Further speaking on the team’s collective goals, he revealed that his team are aiming to establish themselves across Europe.
“Our philosophy is always the same, in Italy and in Europe: establish ourselves and win.” Says Osimhen.
Luciano Spalletti’s men will host the Eagles for the reverse fixture at the Diego Maradona stadium on March 15, and a victory for the Italians would send them to the Champions League quarterfinals.
