Peseiro’s praise: Super Eagles head coach says ‘beast’ Osimhen is the perfect striker

With his goal-scoring form for Napoli this season, Victor Osimhen’s excellent performance is garnering media attention

Super Eagles coach Jose Peseiro has spoken highly of Napoli’s Victor Osimhen, pointing out the top qualities that make him the perfect striker.

Peseiro stated that Osimhen’s press and fight qualities make him stand out from other strikers. He added that opposing defenders face a tough time when they go up against the Nigerian striker, as he doesn’t give them a moment’s peace throughout the 90 minutes.

The coach also highlighted Osimhen’s will to win, both in the game and in training.

According to Peseiro, the striker has impressive mental strength, evident in his determination to win every challenge during the week.

He added that Osimhen’s focus on victory makes him a great player and gives him the potential to achieve even greater things in his career.

What was said?

As per Tutto Napoli, Peseiro said: (Osimhen can) press and fight: when the opposing defenders face him, they don’t have a single moment of peace in the 90 minutes.

“He helps the team a lot, frees up space, makes assists, defends. Italy is a good school because your strikers participate a lot in the defensive phase. Everyone does it, but Osimhen does it very, very well. He’s a beast, an animal.

“The will to win. The will that he shows in the game also shows in every training session. Because many challenges arise during the week, and he wants to win them all. He has impressive mental strength. I can see it in how he also poses with his teammates, always looking for that: victory. For this reason, I am convinced of what great things he can do in his career.”

Peseiro’s comments come at a time when Osimhen is in excellent form, having scored 19 league goals for Napoli.

The 24-year-old has been an important player for the Italian side since he arrived from Lille in 2020. He has quickly established himself as one of the most exciting young talents in European football.
