Manchester United target Osimhen set to miss a ‘couple of weeks’ with Napoli

The Super Eagles player sustained an injury while on international duty with the Nigerian team

Super Eagles forward, Victor Osimhen, is expected to miss a few weeks with the Napoli team after suffering an injury while on international duty.

The Nigerian, who is anticipated to resume where he left off before the international break, reportedly suffers left adductor discomfort, according to a report by the club.

The 24-year-old Nigerian attacker’s comeback date to action was not previously known, but Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has now said that he will be sidelined for a few weeks.

The Nigerian star suffered an injury during the Super Eagles’ doubleheader against Guinea-Bissau in their Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match, according to the Gli Azzurri, who had anticipated him to play a big part in their crucial match against AC Milan.

As a result, he may be absent from the squad for their games against Milan on Sunday, Lecce in the league, and AC Milan in the opening leg of the UEFA Champions League on April 12.

The Partenopei president provided an update during his discussion with reporters at the Lega Serie A meeting, despite the fact that no official confirmation has been made on the club’s website or social media feed about the specific date the Super Eagles superstar will return.

“He should be out for a couple of weeks, we hope,” he said.

Osimhen’s participation in at least the first leg and maybe the second leg of Napoli’s Champions League quarterfinal match against Milan, with the first leg taking place at San Siro, seems very doubtful.

De Laurentiis added: “These are games where any result could happen, you can never know. Milan have some great players, they too are missing someone, and we hope it will be a balanced, entertaining match for the two sets of fans. This is what football should bring us.”

Luciano Spalletti’s men sit in the first place of the Serie A top-flight with 71 points, 23 points ahead of AC Milan.
