La Liga: Excellent Samuel Chukwueze to battle Man City legend, Barcelona star for POTM award

Villarreal’s Samuel Chukwueze has been nominated for the La Liga Player of the Month award for March, following a string of impressive performances in the Spanish top-flight.

The Nigerian forward has either scored or assisted six of Villarreal’s last seven goals in the league, and his recent form has earned him a place among the top performers in the league.

Chukwueze’s nomination for the prestigious award comes after he scored a stunning volley to open the scoring in Villarreal’s away victory at Osasuna at the weekend. This latest goal takes his tally to 11 goals and 11 assists this season, making him one of the most effective attacking players in the league.

The 23-year-old has been in the form of his life in recent weeks, and his contribution to Villarreal’s impressive season has not gone unnoticed.

Chukwueze has played a key role in his team’s recent run of form, which has seen them climb to sixth place in the La Liga table and put themselves in contention for a European place next season.

La Liga POTM nominees

Chukwueze will be up against some stiff competition for the Player of the Month award, however, as he faces competition from the likes of Antoine Griezmann of Atletico Madrid, Barcelona’s Raphina, and Manchester City legend David Silva, now plying his trade for Real Sociedad.

Despite the tough competition, Chukwueze’s nomination is a testament to the quality of his performances in recent weeks, and he will be hoping to cap off a superb season by winning the award.

Villarreal’s next game is against Real Sociedad on April 2nd, and Chukwueze will be looking to continue his fine form and help his team secure another vital victory.
