“I want to play in Europe” – Snubbed Nigerian defender states target with Udinese

The Nigerian defender helped his side pick up a big win against AC Milan, and he wants more as the season reaches the home stretch

Nigerian defender Kingsley Ehizibue has stated that he wants to end the season on a high at Udinese as he hopes that they can get a spot on the continent next season.

Ehizibue was the hero of the day when Udinese defeated AC Milan 3-1 on Saturday. The Nigerian defender scored in the second half to complete the scoring for the Little Zebras.

The victory was their fourth consecutive game without a loss. And it took them to eighth on the Serie A table, seven points behind Atalanta in the final European spot with 11 games to go.

Ehizibue was happy after his feat, and he has admitted that he would like to play in Europe, but he is still cautious so as not to get ahead of himself.

“I’m very happy with the victory and with my goal,” The 27-year-old defender said per Napoli Magazine.

“It was an excellent match from everyone and finally, after a long period, we won at home. We played well against Atalanta, Empoli, and Milan.

“We want to continue like this for the next matches as well. I want to play in Europe, of course, but let’s think match by match.

“The coach is a great motivator, He always helps during training and matches. He has always believed in us and the results can be seen.”

Ehizibue played for Netherlands at the youth level, but he switched allegiance to Nigeria. However, he is yet to be capped for the Super Eagles.
