“I don’t have the words”- Iheanacho disappointed with Leicester City’s FA Cup loss

Iheanacho got off the bench to score for Leicester City, but his effort was not sufficient in the end

Super Eagles striker Kelechi Iheanacho was left disappointed after Leicester City’s 2-1 loss to Blackburn on Tuesday.

Leicester City were looking to advance to the quarter-final of the FA Cup when they welcomed Championship side Blackburn to the King Power Stadium.

They were favourites to claim the victory, but they were stunned by the Rovers. Goals from Tyrhys Dolan and Sammie Szmodics ensured that Iheanacho’s 67th-minute strike was just a consolation. The loss ensured that the Foxes were knocked out of the FA Cup.

Nigeria striker who was disappointed with the result of the game and he shared his thoughts.

“I am so disappointed, I don’t even have the words now especially because we were at home,” the 26-year-old striker said on the club’s YouTube channel.

“We did our bit but it was not enough. If you don’t do what you have to do, you get punished. We just have to look forward to the Premier League and do better,” Iheanacho added.

The loss was Leicester City’s third straight defeat in their last three games. Meanwhile, they would travel to Saint Mary’s Stadium to take on relegation-threatened Southampton on Saturday to get back to winning ways.

Iheanacho has been in rich form since the last week of January, scoring four goals in six games. The former Manchester city man would be looking to help his side return to King Power with three points.
